I’m sure everyone is going to love this diary!
We have a chance to end the white male domin... just kidding. I had no real intention of writing any diaries when I joined this site, and certainly no intention of being a vocal defender of Senator Clinton. But the growing tide of sometimes irrational hatred for her on this site has forced me out of my lethargy.
Clinton is often called a DINO, sometimes the worst Democrat we have. A growing number of people here have promised to vote for the Republican is she is out nominee. Not one or two irrational posters, but dozens do far. Doing so would be to vote against one of the most liberal Senators in our party.
How so? For example, the liberal website Progressive Punch ranks Clinton as our 10th most liberal Senator, giving her a progressive score of 91%, compared with 96% for Kennedy, 74% for Lieberman and 14% for McCain. Who is she closer to?

Maybe you don’t trust those rankings. Well, what about the National Journal? Which in 2004 had given a liberal ranking of 84% for her life time, vs. 88% for Kennedy or 76% for Edwards.

Or the liberal group Americans for Democratic Action, which consistently listed her highly.
If I could link to one of our own members,

These interest groups don’t seem to consider her a DINO.
Clinton is often called a corporatist, controlled by big money interests. And yet she has one of the best economic rankings in the Senate. One of only 8 Senators to receive an A from Drum Major’s in ‘05, up there with Kenney, Boxer and Feingold. And a better than Obama.

She is often called a callous, empty politician who stands for nothing. Her actions in the decades prior to becoming first lady suggest differently. As a lawyer she worked for the Children’s Defense Fund, and the Carnegie Council on Children. She advised the Judiciary Committee during Water Gate. As Arkansas first lady, she chaired the Arkansas Educational Standards Committee and the Rural Health Advisory Committee, positions where she pushed for policy to help Children
Clinton co-founded other groups that advocated for children. Even her time on the Wal Mart board was apparently spent pushing for the hiring of more women.

This is not really a diary in support of Hillary Clinton, it’s a diary, a plea, that asks you not to vote for a Republican (inexplicable to me) or a Green candidate or a write in for Mickey Mouse, should she become the nominee. She’s no DINO, no Republican. She’s a liberal and a million miles away from the modern Republican.
